Public Notice of Vacancy and Provisional Appointment

A vacancy occurred on the Governing Board of the Sierra-Plumas Joint Unified School District for Area 2 with the resignation of Trustee, Annie Tipton, on May 17, 2024.
The Governing Board made a provisional appointment of Rhynie Hollitz to fill the vacancy. The appointment is effective as of June 11, 2024.
Unless a petition calling for a special election containing a sufficient number of signatures (Education Code 5092) is filed in the office of the Sierra County Superintendent of Schools within 30 days of the date of the provisional appointment, it shall become an effective appointment.
